לעיתים, הלקוחות שלנו נותנים לנו משוב  (פידביק) חיובי וברצוני לשתף תגובה מחמיאה על השירותים שלנו מדבי גולן של עמותת עתיד במדבר.

ברצוני להגיד מילה טובה  על דוד ועל סגניתו הנחמדה והמקצועית מאוד שלומית בן-מיכאל, איתם אני במיוחד עובדת בצורה צמודה בכל התקופה האחרונה, כי אנו חייבים לדוד ולשלומית הרבה תודה על עזרתם המקצועית והמסורה. 

 דוד ושלומית סופר מקצועיים, מנוסים, מקושרים, נכונים תמיד לסייע ולהשקיע זמן בלי לעמוד על השעון ואף נרתמים גם בשעות לילה מאוחרות או בסופי שבוע אם צריך ללטש ולהגיש בקשה תחת לחץ של זמן.

הם למדו להכיר מהר מאוד את התוכניות שלנו – ולזהות את הפוטנציאל בהן – הציעו הצעות נבונות, איתרו מקורות מימון חדשים שלא הכרתי, פתחו דלתות, והיו תמיד מוכנים בסבר פנים יפות ובנועם הליכות להשלים עם כל הלחצים וה"שגעונות".

בכתיבה מצאתי אותם מדייקים ומנסחים היטיב את הנקודות החשובות, וקפדניים על הפרטים, למשל בתקציב, כדי שיהיה ברור ותואם את הדרישות והאופי של אותה קרן.

הם גם ערים להיבטים של יח"צ המשולבים בפיתוח המשאבים ומקושרים גם שם. שלומית גם ייצגה אותנו בכבוד ובהצלחה בחו"ל במהלך נסיעה לבוסטון וניו יורק.ההוכחה היא שהצלחנו ביחד להשיג מענקים המסתכמים בכחצי מיליון ש"ח מכמה מקורות חדשים. 

אחד מהם היא פדרציית ניו יורק (אילן הלפרין) – היינו בין 3 מקבלי המענקים מתוך 198 בקשות שהוגשו.

Sharing positive feedback from our client, Debbie Golan of Atid Bamidbar

Every once in a while, a client will give us positive feedback and I’d like to share a complimentary reaction to our services that we received from Debbie Golan of Atid Bamidbar.

 I would like to put in a good word for David and his lovely and highly professional colleague Shlomit Ben Michael, with whom I particularly have been working with closely in the recent past, as we owe him and Shlomit much thanks for their professional and devoted assistance.

They are tremendously professional, experienced and networked and always available to help and invest time, without looking at the clock, and even will work during late night hours or on the weekend to polish and submit a grant proposal before the deadline.

They very quickly became familiar with our programs and identified their potential, offered wise suggestions, identified new sources of funding which I was not familiar with, opened doors and were always gracious and calm about dealing with all pressures and "craziness".

Their writing is precise and their wording emphasizes well the significant points, they pay attention to detail, e.g., in the budgets so that the result will be clear and match the requirements and the character of each foundation.

They are also aware of integrating PR aspects in Resource Development and take advantage of their network for that purpose. Shlomit also represented us abroad with dignity and success during a trip to Boston and New York. The proof is that together we succeeded in securing grants of about 1/2 million NIS from a few new sources. One of them being the New York Federation (Ilan Halpern) – we were one of the three grantees out of 198 proposals which submitted.

David's meeting with Joseph Hyman, Director of the Center for Entreprenuerial Jewish Philanthropy

Last week, IsraelGrants CEO David Maeir-Epstein had the unique opportunity of meeting with Joseph Hyman, Director of the Center for Entrepreneurial Jewish Philanthropy (CEJP). In October 2012, the Jerusalem Post featured the CEJP’s work in a front page story entitled “A Jewish Philanthropic Bank Changing the Face of Charity” which can be found at www.Jpost.com/features/inthespotlight/article.aspx?id=289501

This article is a must-read as it highlights the sophisticated philanthropic philosophy developed by Hyman involving collaboration, partnership and leverage as a way of maximizing social impact and efficiency of charity. Hyman told David that CEJP’s focus was likely to move from Tsfat and the North to the South of Israel for 2013. 

 After the Second Lebanon War in 2006, CEJP created the Philanthropic Partnership to Strengthen Northern Israel (PPSNI), which in 2010 made the collective strategic decision to target Tsfat, a city which has struggled with a variety of socio-economic challenges including the departure of many young, middle-class families in recent years. 

To further this mission, the CJEP assembled a coalition of strategic partners such as the Tsfat municipality and Mayor, the Rashi Foundation, numerous Israeli Government Ministries and 13 U.S. philanthropists from the PPSNI giving group. This synergy resulted in infusing $9.2 million towards the development and renovation of key educational and cultural centers and programs in the city with the ultimate goal of strengthening the quality of life in Tsfat as a means of attracting new residents and strengthening its present population.

The CJEP is an outstanding example of impactful giving which can only be accomplished by leveraging each other’s strengths in order to provide far greater support than any of the partners could have possibly secured alone.
