The UJA Federation of New York is accepting proposals for 2011-2012.

They are currently seeking to fund initiatives that address the following:

1. Community development in Jerusalem, encouraging its Zionist and pluralist elements in light of challenging trends including negative immigration and critical social gaps; OR

2. Initiatives that act as a social unifier, working across populations to instill values such as citizenship and collective identity among Israelis. These initiatives might utilize methods including volunteerism, community organization, social engagement, leadership development and social action, or other means. Proposals focusing on the geographic periphery will be favored.

Their other parameters include:

· No proposals for funding of ongoing activities or projects.

· UJA-Federation of New York has not previously funded the project, although the organization can have received previous funding from UJA-Federation.

· Initiatives that work across of Israeli society encompassing ethnic, economic and religious diversity, can be submitted.

UJA-Federation’s Targeted Grants Will Not Fund

  • Individuals.
  • Endowments
  • Capital projects
  • Debt reduction
  • General operating support

Please submit a letter of intent by September 15th. If the concept has been accepted, a full proposal will be due December 1, 2011.
